Sometimes I am baffled at the audacity of ignoramuses and in same vein illiterates whose dire states of being unlettered cum uninformed which falsely emboldens them into believing they are right,when in actuality are dead wrong.
Lacking knowledge,they often have this irritating effrontery to be confrontational with intellectuals,intellectuality cum civil norms and constitutional modus operandi,basking idiotically on instinct or ideologies handed them by oral education,history, custom or tradition which may be or are in variance with formal education which forms the bedrock of modern societies cum it's governance.
One fateful Saturday night I went visiting at his apartment. At about 11:30 pm my friend came into the living room were I was and beckoned" I should come see a thief that was caught."
The sad event that unfolded late that night began when my friend's neighbour a male and his concubine drove in from where they had gone to make purchase of what they'll eat for dinner. According to the lady,"she claimed to have seen someone hiding behind the pedestrian gate as they drove in, but chose to be mute."
However,on alighting from the car, they decided to go into their bedroom to plug in their phones to charge. With that done,they moved to the kitchen to prepare dinner. Few minutes later they came back to the bedroom to check on their phones, but unfortunately the phones were no where to be found.
Shocked,they briskly exited the apartment and made for the main gate to see if they could sight cum catch the thief who must stolen the phones.However,while they moved towards the right side of the road after exiting the compound,one of the victim's who happened to be the girl friend of my friend's neighbour who
himself was a victim on hearing a dog barking in the opposite direction beckoned on her lover and his brother to turn around towards the direction from which a dog was barking.
True to her word, as they made towards the end of the street of the said direction,a young man of about 32-35 years hurriedly dashed out from the bushes in the said direction,but as he made to escape,one of the men who was among the search party swiftly pounced on the suspect and caught him,thus,was brought back to the crime scene.
The young man that was caught "by law" was but a "suspect."until proven otherwise by court of law.Sadly, ignorance took the best of them eventually and we're made to pay direly
On arrival into the compound they questioned him severally,but since no tangible answer was emanating from him,he was pummeled to unconsciousness.
At that point,derived information of where he resided hitherto led the ignoramuses to the said residence address with the hope of finding the said phones there. Unfortunately, at that wee hour of the morning "2:30 am" the land lord of the suspect refused them entry insisting that they "go bring him along"before they would be allowed entry into the suspect's apartment.
They returned as advised, but the suspect who eventually died remained in coma after much torture.
Instead of being remorseful or sober for their action,they boasted that "the suspect deserved what he got and that that's how a thief should be treated"
That the long arms of the law caught up with them the next morning and as at the time of penning this article are still languishing in detention is no longer news.
The issue here is that they took law into their hands by commiting murder instead of handing the suspect over to the police for proper investigation cum legal action.
Unequivocally, one could obviously see how deadly ignorance is and how costly illiteracy can also be.
Can you just imagine a stack illiterate or ignoramus calling out a prof.for academic challenge . Na juju?
Anyway, that's why they are so called "ignoramuses and illiterates,"evident in their obtrusivity cum goofy attitude.
The bane of most countries and their leadership stems from the fact that they are indignated by yielding to shenanigans of semi illiterates cum ignoramuses residually box them into draconic subduance.
In conclusion,if you think education is costly,try ignorance.
